About Us Atom Herders
Founded by Andy Skirrow, Atom Herders Ltd is a culmination of over two decades of experience in the events and engineering industry. Graduating in 2001 with an MEng in Electrical & Electronic Engineering from the University of Bath, Andy's unconventional career journey began.
Andy's passion for live events grew during his university years, leading him to join Enlightened Lighting, Bath, in 2003, contributing to the company's early development. In 2008, he transitioned to a freelance lighting engineer, working on national touring theatre productions and gaining extensive experience in the entertainment sector.
With almost 20 years in the industry, Andy is well-positioned to support events of all sizes. In 2016, he played a key role in designing and building the flight capsule for a non-stop circumnavigation attempt in a hot air balloon, showcasing the practical application of his academic learning.
Following the success of this project, Andy ventured into similar projects that bridge the entertainment industry and engineering. This unique perspective allows us to approach challenges with a fresh outlook.
